I was at the Lexus dealer today and ended up getting a base GX, a 2015. I am aware it doesn't have all the frills but if I want that, I have a loaded Infiniti FX. Anyway I got the last GX before new shipments arrive in the next 2 weeks. The sales person told me most GXs are sold prior to arriving at the dealership. If they have one or two left, they are gone in a couple of days. Yes I find it hard to believe as well that they have a hard time keeping them in stock.

They have to be kidding! Run, don't walk away from this deal. BTW, do you have to pay taxes all at once or just for usage. In GA, you have to pay the full amount and taxes add around $100 or more per month unless of course you pay taxes up front.
Anyway, this is a lousy deal. You can get up to 4K off MSRP. You should start at invoice and work from there. Dealers still make money via dealer holdback which is 3% of invoice or MSRP. Never put money down on a lease or do 48 month leases.
Ask what money factor they used to calculate this deal. The money factor for 2015 GX premium is .00170. Dealers do mark them up for profit.
Use the formula I gave earlier to calculate your lease or go to www.edmunds.com and there is a Lexus section. Very knowledgeable people there. Upload your lease worksheet and they can calculate what the payments should be. I believe the residual for 36K is 60%.

Yeah, I'm running. Problem is they are the only local dealer. The next closest two are 100 miles away.

Jtrue,
Where do you live? Sometimes its worth going to another dealer even if its some distance away. I live in the Atlanta metropolitan area and there are 5 dealerships.

Don't run away. Counter offer. This is the game that must be played. If you are not willing then you aren't ready to purchase or lease a vehicle. First you should think about my previous advice and start understanding how leases are calculated if you haven't already.
