Tint - Questions/Comments/Concerns
#17
Whoa I was considering tinting my windows and was unaware that it could affect these things! I was thinking of the 3M tint, or one of the higher end ones. Does it really mess with this stuff? I've seen other Lexus' with pretty dark windows. Does it void the warranty if you tint the windows?

Double-check your paperwork to make sure you weren't charged for it.
I bought my '13 from Sewell and it is almost a necessity to have tint down here in Texas. I would say 95% of brand new cars have it. Mine was supposed to be tinted as part of "special promotion" package at no charge from the dealership. But I told them not to as I already had a tint guy who would do any percentage I wanted.

I think it installed at port? On the driver side has small template logo from the film, but this tint look like 50% to me?

Not installed at the port. I believe all dealers, or at least a good majority, sub-contract tint professionals. That's what my tint guy told me he does. Plus, I had the option to turn down the tint to which I did. The car was at the dealership so no way it's done at the port.

those of you with front tint, is it not more difficult to see at night and when raining outside window?
i had minimal tint on windows on a car and it was hard to see at night and with rain.

I have no problem with 30% ceramic on my IS, no fog up neither, when i got my windows tint i compare the dark between ceramic and regular film, i noticed the 30% ceramic is about 40% dark of the regular film, i love my 30% all the around on my car, it is not too dark i can see through, and i can see clear at night or in the rain

I have no problem with it either, I have had the windows tinted on all of my vehicles since 1998 and I find it too bright when I drive a different car without tint.
