Default Wheel Fitment Question - 2014 GX460

Hi,

My dad recently purchased a 2014 GX and has asked me to source wheels for him. I'm in the process of ordering a set of Forgeline's and was wondering if anyone has put aftermarket wheels on a 2nd gen GX and can provide fitment for it. Plan would be a set of 20" x 9" with a 0-25mm offset. I'm not looking for a huge lip, just a fitment that keeps the rim flush with the fenders.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Michael

You are asking a rare question here (actually I think never) and I think I am the only owner that has a custom set up.
DUB 22X9 wheels
Any reputable company should be able to inform you if the wheels/tires will meet the required standards, they may not know due to they have never built wheels for the GX.

What is the offset on those wheels btw?

I paid a custom shop to handle my fit. All I can tell you is what is on my receipt and they demanded I stay spec.

If you can figure out what the above numbers are, if not I would be happy to find out for you.

its a rare question and theres not much choice unfortunately. I would stick with stock rims. I have always said here, the 4th gen Limited 4R 6 spoke silver rims are the best looking rims. I like the current luxury rims too.
keep in mind, going up on the rims and tires puts stress on the joints and suspension, and they could wear out faster.

I Understand regarding stress and "stick with stock" ... This is for me and I like to stand out with a custom look. To many mundane vehicles around me.

Thanks for your advice!

My guess would be that your wheel is a +57mm offset. On a 9" wide wheel, this would give you a 2.2" lip.

I understand this is not a common question amongst GX owners, but it likely will be after I get done. I can't get excited over any of the factory wheel options for the GX and a high quality forged wheel with the right fitment shouldn't hurt anything.

My friend is a Forgeline distributor and this is the wheel we are going with. It will have a brushed center with a polished lip. It's the only wheel Forgeline has in a 6x5.5 bolt pattern.

Forgeline's have been ordered through Tony at DV8 Motoring (www.dv8motoring.com). We ordered the wheels with a high gloss brushed center and cleared polished lip. Here's a few pictures of what the wheels should look like in the finish we ordered....

Carhor - if your dad's GX had the premium or luxury split 6-spoke wheels I'll buy them off you. I'm in TX too.

Those Forgeline's are awesome, at least on Vipers. I had 19" Forgeline VR1's on my old Viper before they discontinued them. They looked just like the GA3R wheels in the picture but were 1 piece lightweight wheels made specifically for the Viper.

I agree, Forgeline's are the way to go on Vipers. At the end of the day, they will be awesome on the GX; although, this will be the first set of Forgeline's on a GX ever!

I'll be sure to post pictures of the finished product!
