If you have a car that sits outside, after 6 years the tires are going to be dry rotted whether you wear the tread out or not.

Is that quote for the Latitudes or the LTX M/S2?

For tire shine I use a product called Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel which I like a lot:

I don't use spray on tire dressings just because they're messy, I wouldn't be worried about them hurting tires.
I bet you're right about the dry rot on cars stored outside. Luckily that won't be an issue going forward. Do you see a benefit - besides appearance - by using the product you use?

BJ price is for the LTX M/S2. They only have the LATITUDE X-ICE XI2 which is a 40k warranty tire and I don't need snow tires in the DC area.
Here's the link for the prices on all tires BJ's recommends for the RX300:

Not really, the only benefit is appearance.

The LTX M/S2 is what I would choose.

How do the LTX's compare to the Michelin Defenders? I had Defenders on a Corolla and they were awesome.

The LTX is a crossover/SUV tire. Very different.

It depends which Defender you're referring to. Defender LTX M/S replaced LTX M/S2 so if you were planning on LTX M/S2 get Defender LTX M/S instead as it's a newer tire.

If you need more of a on-road tire get Premier LTX.
