Good options for sure. I just worry about the reliability on the RR (and the Benz for that matter). It's too bad if you want to go Japanese because Infiniti just makes that hideous behemoth and Acura has nothing other than the MDX.

Knock on wood I hope to keep my '14 for a good 15 years or so, so it doesn't really matter to me. By then (2030), hopefully there will be a nice selection of hydrogen or diesel electric rides to choose from.

The current M-Class looks like a dumpy, awkward 5-year old Hyundai. Seriously, the new Santa Fe has better lines.

Looking at trading in my 2003 GX but can't find anything so far that I like online. Don't want the RX or LX so up in the air at this point on what to get. Not a BMW fan. Will have to start test driving cars but hate dealing with all the sales guys.

If the GX (which is based on the Land Cruiser Prado) is no longer available in the states, I'll most likely replace it with a 4Runner..but that's a good 5 years away for me.

the gX apparently is a big $ maker straight from Toyotas press releases. Dont expect it to go away at all at this point. Rather they are adding the NX to line up and possibly making the RX a 3 row in future

TORRANCE, Calif. (May 1, 2014) – Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today reported April 2014 sales results of 199,660 units, an increase of 9 percent from April 2013 on a daily selling rate (DSR). On a raw-volume basis, unadjusted for 26 selling days in April 2014 versus 25 selling days in April 2013, TMS sales increased 13.3 percent from year-ago month.

Toyota division posted April 2014 sales of 176,495 units, up 7.4 percent year-over-year on a DSR basis. Volume-wise, Toyota division sales increased 11.7 percent over April 2013.

“Sales momentum from March rolled into April pushing the industry to its best back-to-back monthly sales pace since fall of 2007,” said Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president and general manager. “For Toyota, truck sales continue to soar. Tundra is a highlight with double-digit gains as comfort, safety and technology of the all-new model remain a strong draw for consumers.”

Lexus reported April sales of 23,165 units, a 23.1 percent increase on a DSR and a 28 percent increase on a raw-volume basis, both year-over-year.

"The luxury segment has improved at a faster pace than the overall general industry through each of the first four months of the year," said Jeff Bracken, Lexus group vice president and general manager. "The new IS and GX more than doubled sales in April compared to last year and six of eight Lexus vehicle lines posted gains for the month."

Other Highlights:
Camry up 20 percent with sales of 38,000 units
All-new Corolla posts sales of nearly 30,000 units, increasing 20 percent
Toyota division trucks up nearly 16 percent
All-new RAV4 leads trucks with sales of 19,000 units, best-ever April
FJ Cruiser up over 508 percent
All-new Highlander up 28 percent
4Runner up 64 percent
Toyota pickups up over 13 percent
All-new Tundra up 24 percent
Tacoma posts sales of nearly 14,000 units, up 7 percent
Lexus up 28 percent
All-new Lexus IS posts triple-digit gains for the fifth month in a row
Lexus GS up over 21 percent
Lexus luxury utility vehicles up 25 percent
Lexus RX up 15 percent
Lexus GX sales more than doubled for the sixth month in a row

*Note: Unless otherwise stated, all figures reflect unadjusted raw sales volume

Damn - folks really want an FJ now that this is the last year.

Tough not to double GX sales since month one was 1, month two was 2, month three was 4, etc... lol

Either the 7-seater BMW X7 (or whatever they name it) or Jaguar's C-X17 SUV

Default Looks like the GX may here a while.......

From Automotive News 04/26/2014:

Lexus weighs the best way to add 7-seat crossover
Mark Rechtin
Automotive News | April 26, 2014 - 12:01 am EST

NEW YORK -- Lexus plans to offer a seven-seat crossover, either by bringing out a new vehicle or by increasing the size of the venerable RX 350.

"Third-row seating is the No. 1 issue we hear from dealers," Lexus Division chief Jeff Bracken said at the auto show here. "We feel like we're missing a 35,000-units-a-year opportunity. We're working hard to rectify that."

Lexus' crossover mainstay is the RX 350, a mid-sized five-seater that in the best of economic times has sold more than 100,000 units a year.

The RX is based on the platform of the Toyota Highlander, which was redesigned this year. But the Lexus variant won't arrive until late 2015, to make room for the launch of the compact NX 200t and NX 300h five-seat crossovers arriving this winter.

Lexus has a seven-seat SUV -- the GX 460 -- but it is a body-on-frame SUV with a trucklike ride. There has been speculation that a car-based seven-seat crossover would reduce the need for the GX 460, but a Lexus source said the GX 460 is highly profitable for the automaker, even at low volumes.

It has been 11 years since Lexus unveiled the HPX seven-seat, car-based crossover concept at the New York auto show -- and seven years since a LF-Xh crossover concept appeared at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. Plans for a production version of the LF-Xh were halted with the recession.

Now, such a vehicle appears back on the agenda. Toyota has applied for a trademark for the TX nameplate. Toyota product planners are secretive about whether the TX would use the Highlander-Camry-Avalon front-wheel-drive architecture for packaging benefits, or use the Lexus IS/GS sedans' rear-wheel-drive architecture for a sportier feel.

Still, the TX coding could merely be for a seven-seat variant of the RX 350. The 2014 Highlander kept the same 109.8-inch wheelbase, but gained nearly 3 inches of overall length to 191.1 inches. Despite the length increase, the Highlander's third-row seat is cramped, which might not mesh with Lexus owners' luxury requirements.

"It could be any number of solutions," Bracken said. "We could bring it to market in 2016 or 2017. If we can get it, that's the priority. We won't be bothered if it steps on RX. We want it."

I think 99% it will be based on a Highlander, that's the most logical choice.

This is very good news, even if it is speculation at this time. It comes from a highly reliable source and sounds very positive. As I have said all along, the GX is based on the Prado/4Runner so making it is not very expensive overall. The Prado is a big seller all over the world so adding the Lexus touch to it then selling it as the GX does not cost that much but the profit margin is huge. They are made side by side in the same factory. I really do not want to be forced to go to BMW or Mercedes if I want a mid-sized SUV, I want to stay part of the Lexus family!

It is why bought GX now, it at least it will last for next 5 years. Don't like the soft CUV concept at all.

Yep, hope my '14 will last around 10years, otherwise a V8 4Runner or LX might works too.
