Default Soften Base GX460 Suspension

I have a Base 2012 GX 460. Base, not premium.

The Base model does NOT come with the air suspension.

The ride is very stiff and on the bumpy roads around here it is a rough ride.

I was told by Lexus that I cannot soften the suspension nor can an air suspension system be put in.
This sounds like BS to me - surely softer shocks would do the job?

If I get softer shocks I suspect I will invalidate my warranty?

Any suggestions anyone?

The Stealer is correct. The shocks pretty much stabilize the susp travel and changing them will have little affect (maybe even make it stiffer). The factory shocks on the base model (and susp) are pretty soft. Installing the Premium susp (air susp) is not an option (insane cost - $5K plus). I would take a look at what air pressure is in your tires. If you run them at the minimum pressure (32/34 psi) it will soften the ride a little. The only other thing you can do is install tires that are known to give a soft ride (check Tire Rack).

I agree 100% w/ Koz, When I got my base GX I thought the ride was harsh as well, I then found out that my tires had 45 PSI in them. I put them all down to 33 PSI cold and the ride is much better. You will lose some handling doing this but it will help with the ride if they have a lot of pressure in them.
