Default Opinions on possible purchase

Hello

Considering the purchase of a CPO 2010 Lexus GX460 with the below options.

- Knights Armor with Sand Beige interior
- Build date - 03/24/2010
- Comfort plus package
- Convenience package
- Navigation system with voice command
- HID lamps
- Cargo net/ wheel locks and cargo mat

Some more details
- Approx 25,000 miles
- New tires & brakes (Michelins)
- Final negotiate price - $42,500
- Originally sold and maintained by the same dealer

Questions
- Can I do better on price?
- Any lookouts for the purchase of a GX460?

Thanks in advance

The only issue I see is why were the brakes new and tires new after just 25,000 miles?

It just seams really early for these items.

Could it be a requirement of the CPO process?

When they work you to buy their extended warranty (if you want it), tell them no, and let them improve their price. They may or may not have room on the maintenance portion, but there is room on the warranty, good luck! KH

Ok, not sure if it's a good price or not, I got a 12 Base w/ options for $54K brand new.

This is Lexus CPO, not a back alley used dealer in the bad part of town. I highly doubt there is anything sinister going on.

Depending on which OE tire came on the vehicle, you're roughly looking at between 30-40K before they need to be changed. Brake pads were more than 50% worn at 25K and swapped out per the CPO program.

I just raised the point as 25,000 seems really low for both tires and brakes, makes me wonder if the GX was used for a lot of towing or driven really hard. Just something for the buyer to be aware of.

Not for nothing but the OEM tires are NOT going to last long with a 440 tread wear rating (especially the Bridgestone’s). I replaced mine with 16K miles on them and there was only 5 to 8K good miles left on them (maybe). I would not want to go through a winter (snow) with 25k miles on these tires. The brakes would last more but some people (i do) like to change the pads (fronts) sooner to avoid rotor damage (wear).
