FLUID FILM is incredible. i sprayed it under my whole gx after it was repainted from rust.
it keeps everything looking brand new and corrosion free.

Rust? What's the story behind this?

Ah, gotcha. So just typical SRA cosmetic rust. Happens on Mustangs too. Nothing for me to worry about.

I guess you would, at least, have to put a drain pan under the car to catch the oil draining from the filter housing.

How often are you guys changing oils. I noticed the GX has a 5000 mile interval while my Camry has a 10,000 mile interval.

The GX first oil change is 5K, then 10K and every 10k thereafter.

Don't ask your dealer how often to change your oil, he'll say every 5k. They like for you to come in more often.

I don't know if all dealers actually change it at the first 5K but I'd pay to have it done. 10K is a lot on oil in a new engine.

From the maintenance schedule it says inspect and adjust at 5K and change at 10K:

6 Months or 5,000 Miles1
❑ Inspect and adjust all fluid levels ❑ Program Lexus Personalized Settings,
if requested ❑ Reset maintenance reminder light ❑ Rotate tires ❑ Visuallyinspectbrakepads, calipersandrotors ❑ Inspect wiper blades ❑ Check installation of driver’s floor mat ❑ Road-test vehicle
Note: If you drive primarily under certain special operating conditions, you should also replace the engine oil with 0W-20 oil and replace the oil filter. See page 44 for conditions that apply. Some conditions require additional maintenance. See below.

12 Months or 10,000 Miles2
❑ Replace engine oil with 0W-20 oil; replace oil filter
❑ Reset maintenance reminder light ❑ Rotate tires ❑ Visuallyinspectbrakepads, calipersandrotors ❑ Inspect wiper blades ❑ Check installation of driver’s floor mat ❑ Road-test vehicle

Dealer changed mine for free at 5K, the rest have been out of pocket so I do it myself. I change it between 8k - 10k.

Right, but the maintenance schedule doesn't call for it until 10,000 miles.

I had them do the 10k Service at 5k for free, under Warranty.
