Which inno mount works best? Also does anyone know if the Thule square bars work with the inno? What bar length works best? Thanks!

I discovered today that the 5th Gen T4R roof rails will fit a GX460, with one minor exception. The front holes and mounting gasket line up perfectly however only one rear hole of the rear mount lines up. It is perfectly sturdy and well attached with just 3 bolts. Picked these up for $20 on OfferUp to try out.

There are a few advantages to this set-up over the oem rails which are flush to the roof. The T4R rails are slotted which will allow use of 80/20 or some other rugged cross bars. Alternatively, it is far easier to fit Yakima or Thule crossbars than with the flush mount rails where Inno is the only viable option. Never mind the ****ty Yakima Railgrab in the one pic. That was just for test fitting.

My previous setup (last pic) was a set of Chinese eBay Prado 150 rails which were fine and had an additional center foot but which never fit quite right and took months to get the right center mount and cover from seller. They also lacked a center slot thereby limiting the crossbar options.

I bought this custom kit off the 4R forum that includes the necessary flange nuts and brackets that allows you to mount an awning or other stuff directly to that 4R rack. I'll post pics of it after Labor Day. I might sell it because I was told it would mount to the 460 rack. It didn't....Oh well.... they were raw steel so I put a coat of some combo black/primer rattle can paint on them. I might revisit seeing if I can find different hammer screws. They might still work.

I think they were these:

I just bought an awning off of eBay. Will see if I can mount it to the oem bars. My brother made some mounting brackets ( thanks Acrad) so I can mount random stuffs on the bars so I’m going to try the awning on it.

Good to hear

I am still using these for my awning but was interested in the 4R versions because they would be more friendly to my garage door as they have a lower mount point.

I have to lower the rear suspension to get rig in garage with awning on.

I had to get a new garage door because of a little whoopsie with the roof rack. Clopay Sunset 603. Would recommend.

please post picture when you get it installed. Also let me know if there’s a lot of wind noise. I have this on my other truck and love it!

Something to note, make sure you DO NOT use an impact drill when removing/installing the OEM rails. The shock can shake looks the inner nuts which are just clipped to a tab under the headliner. Hand tools only. #beentheredonethat

How have you like your frontrunner rack? Any considerable wind noise or MPG loss? Easy to install ?

Rails up front.
