Default Blendmount and Valentine One radar

Does anyone have this kind of mount with your Valentine One radar on the GX?

I don't have the blend mount but I have one very similar mounted, same idea basically. Still working on wiring, that part is fighting me.

I do and it is the best install I have ever had. I get compliments all the time. I used a StealthCord which was perfect but I learned that they just recently went out of business. I can post a pic if you like.

I just ordered one because I really don't like the suction cups very much. Does it look very obvious from the outside that you have a radar detector?

I just got the mount and installed it, it looks really nice and very stylish. It keeps my Valentine 1 right in the center below the rearview mirror and it doesn't look very conspicuous that I have a radar. I used the savvy with the flat cord to connect it, it was a very easy and clean install and if I decide to buy the concealed display I have the port to hook it up to. Can you post pics of your install?

Hey Eppie, what mount did you pick up? The Blendmount looks good, but I'm curious if there are options for less than $100 . . . Maybe there isn't, thanks! KH

I have had this mount 2007. I had to bore out the hole a bit to fit the Lexus and I wish it was tucked a little higher up to the bottom of the mirror but I paid I think $25.00 for it so it's not worth buying something else. If you want the persons e-mail that makes them I can get it for you but I do not have a webiste for him.

Default Update

Just got an update on the mount:

$33.00 shipped in the US (PayPal) and here are the pictures he sent:

I would probably mount and then paint black, I don't really care for the raw nuts, but at a third of the cost, it is a worthy use of time. I do see what you mean about it hanging too low, that may be a deal breaker, the Blend mount seems to be high and tight, I have asked if he has a "shorter" version, KH

Agreed, I painted the metal flat black before I installed it. Glad it worked out for you.

Quick update: After looking at the pictures of the other mount, I decided to go with the Blend unit anyway, I really want the V1 high and tight to the rear view mirror . . . Still not 100% sold since I used to have it installed really close to the headliner in my previous car and it was much more out of sight.

I also went with the Savvy. Clearly, I didn't read the description very well as I just bought it just for the low speed mutes, I had NO IDEA that it just plugs right into the OBD (on-board diagnostic) port of your car. This gives the Savvy speed information AND SWITCHED power. Perfect! I wasn't really looking forward to digging around for switched power (not hard, just lazy).

I ended up going down the driver's side A-pillar and threading the cord down to the foot well, wow, what an easy and clean install! Thanks all, KH

Forgot to mention that the Blend database has only the GX470 listed, but it works perfectly for the 460 as well--

Blendmount/J28 Design gave me a discount code to give to my "friends", is it tacky to post the 10% off coupon code or is it better just to hit me up via PM? Not sure the proper protocol is for this, KH

These are really cool pictures, thanks for the feedback. That mount also looks nice and very neat on the GX too.
