Default 2011 gx460 (3rd row heavy rain leak at seatbelt)

When it rains heavily, and only heavily, water leaks into the vehicle from the 3rd row seatbelt area. It won’t do it at any car wash or light rain. Anyone know how to fix this? Thank you for your help.

Dealer can’t replicate situation and so it doesn’t happen in their eyes.

The only point of entry for water to that area that I can think of is through the roof rails and/or sunroof seals, please inspect both and swap for new.

Hope that helps.

I suspect the rear sunroof drain tube is clogged.

MSmac: Try pouring water on the side of the open sunroof with the rear of the truck in a decline like I did. I found some 4 Runner videos and the drain is easy to access on the rear but as you can see on the GX it is up there. Cleaning the front tubes can be done from the top but the rear is accessed from the other end.

+1 to those above, has to be somewhere in the sunroof, rails, top of the rear door.

Sunroof drain sounds like high probability culprit. Sunroofs are basically designed to leak and drain.

The parts diagram shows the rear drain hoses running down the C pillar and then out behind the rear fenders. Given where the water is in the OP's pictures, it would have to travel all the way from the C Pillar to nearly the back door. It seems like he would see water closer to the C pillar.

It's still worth checking all the drain hoses; just seems odd to me where the water is coming in. When I cleared mine on my Land Cruiser, I used soldering wire. It was rigid enough to push out the debris, but bendy enough to move through the contours in the hoses. Solid electrical wire works well too.

Or rear roof rail screw, satellite antenna or catastrophic seal gone on the rear door? Might have to start pulling interior trim pieces

Sounds like your sunroof drains are clogged

My mom has a Cadillac that under heavy or constant rain it would leak into the back seats and it turned out to be the drain holes were plugged.

Default Check Engine, Trac Off and 4lo After Car Wash

Hi Everyone

I recently purchased a clean, single owner 2011 Gx460, car is running smooth but I went for an automatic car wash, during car was surprisingly some water came from Sunroof. I need to know where are drain opening in GX460

Default Gx460 won't respond to keys

So I have the 2010 GX460 and I'm stumped at it's latest tantrum.

The car is around 124k km in. I've taken care of the car since I bought it brand new. The latest major repairs done on her was a full suspension replacement last year.

Apart from the common complaints it has (eg. vibration in the steering, key not detected, etc) now it won't recognize the keys anymore. As in, I cannot unlock the car because it won't respond to any command from the keys, and both my keys have new batteries and function well.

Has anyone encountered the same issue? I can't find anywhere online any remedy for my issue since I haven't found any complaints about it either.

While on the subject of defects, my sunroof keeps leaking water in whenever I get it washed at the car wash. Shop says it's a Lexus defect on all cars. Does anyone else have the same issue?
