so the chroming process costs $1200 bucks? and how much more are they charging for the exchange? they are making the $ on this exchange
With shipping both ways, total price I paid US Wheel was 1163.50 for the exchange. They keep your original wheels. You send your wheels back after you have the chrome wheels installed. If you think that's high, check what the dealer wants for the same wheels... They bill you an 800.00 core charge until they get your wheels back. It was an easy transaction and they credited my card as soon as they received my wheels.

i respect your money spent, but for me not worth it.
I could get 2 brand new sets of 4runner 18'' rims for that price, which look a heck of lot better than the current stock gx 460 rims. i may do that in future and keep 2 sets of rims for this

I have worked out my deal differently. Since US Wheel Exchange has a shortage of GX wheels, in exchange for two sets of GX wheels I will get the chroming for free on one of them. Still have to pay for shipping of one set, but Marcus paid for the other. I bought the other set from Ebay for $430 which is on the way directly to him. So I have saved up proximately $500.

Looking at couple members who have GX wheels chromed and now looking at 4runner, I think doesn't matter which wheels you go with they both look great. Cannot wait for mine.

I just washed up the GX yesterday after weeks of rain, snow, and crap around Seattle.

The wheels cleaned up very well. We get alot of 'brine' and de-icer on the roads around here lately, and not a spec of pitting, scratching, or anything.

You should be very pleased!

As for where to take them to have them installed... take them to wherever people with Yukon's and Escalade's go for their big 22s-24s. They have the equipment to protect the finish of the wheels...

believe it or not, i had a brand new set and sold them when i was buying the gx, cause i cancelled my 4runner order. stupid me! These 4Runner 18 inch rims are imho the best rim out there, just wish they came in 20 inch x 8.5 inchs like the LX/LC (which toyota stupidly made a 5 bolt pattern)

So far - I am super happy and they are holding up well.

Don't spect 'show chrome' mirror finish. It's good, and plenty shiny, but it's not mirror finish like chrome or polished stainless.

They clean up VERY well. Super easy. Using normal soap.

Don't buy straight off eBay - get ahold of the sales guy, Marcus, and see if he'll make you a deal.

wheels come in boxes... well packaged and wrapped. Have them swapped out, but the originals in the box - and drop off at the fed ex station. done. Refund of the core charge was pretty quick and definitely painless.

You going to try the black chrome????
Could you please post a pic?

http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...2010/4358.html

they obviously made a mistake on that website, they are 18 x 7.5 inches.

Default New install

Ok, Just had the PVD chrome wheels installed. Worth every penny. Below are before and after pictures. Also there is one picture I took in a shadow to give you an idea how wheels look like without direct sunlight. BTW Marcus moved to a different company and if you want a set of wheels ask for Bryan.
