Default Updating with photos of tow hitch install

Finished installing the OEM tow hitch 60141. Overall, it was straightforward process.

Now on to other additions....

Default Ball Mount

Did the kit you purchased include the ball mount?

finally got around to install the hitch yesterday. got it shipped from Bell Lexus in North Scottsdale for $480 total.
had been sitting on it knowing it would be a pain to install by myself. my local dealer wanted over $600 to install so i decided to do it myself. knew it was going to be warm so i finally got to do it.

thanks @pikenp your pics helped me out

like others posted, it was pretty straight forward. got the muffler tool before doing it. been thinking about how to hold the hitch up and finally decided to use the rachet straps. it worked well for me but was still painful.
here are some pix

in all, i think it took me about 4~5 hours.

Would a floor jack be easier to lift and hold hitch?

I installed my receiver hitch yesterday.

Floor jack and two jack stands worked great!

Bought a new 2023 Premium Plus sport with factory tow hitch installed... I can't find the sport package lip cutout anywhere... is that suppose to be saved by the dealership and provided with the vehicle on a new purchase? I couldn't find it anywhere... curious others experience and if there is a part number?

I have a '23 Premium Plus that came with the installed factory hitch, no "cutout" was provided, but would you be able to re-install this cutout piece with the hitch in place. I haven't really looked that closely at it, but don't see how it could be put on the bumper when not towing.

You probably could get it back on, but not without cutting it if the hitch is still in place. @tomas21 , are you wanting to remove your hitch?

Default What happens if I attach it to only the two holes seen

I have a similar model. What happens if I attach it to only the two holes seen? I intend only attaching a bike rack that at maximum would be carrying 100 pounds or roughly 40 kilos in 3 bikes occasionally. I do not intend it for any other use.

attaching a pic of the below view

Your GX looks to be missing the 'sub assembly bracket' part# 51908WY010 (search the number to see more). My GX (Oct/Nov production, US specs) came with the bracket which the Curt bolts up to.

There's one on ebay [no affiliation] that shows more detail as well as the needed bolts to attach it.

I wanted the cutout part just in case in the future I ever wanted to uninstall the hitch etc... just nice to have that part since they told me it should have been in the back of the car when I bought it from the dealer.

I would never consider installing a hitch with only 2 bolts, fully install it following the instructions and using all the bolts. Doing less sounds like the potential for a huge lawsuit if something happens.

It's only the Sport Design package units that need to have the lower valence modified to allow for the hitch to be attached. (That is if your SD didn't include the hitch from the factory.)

Finally got around to having the Lexus OEM tow hitch installed on my '23 GX. The Lexus service center installed the tow hitch, did a state inspection and washed my car in 2 hrs. So, I'd say at max..this is 2 hrs of labor from the dealer...while I think they quote 4 hrs. I had the sport trim, so they did remove the lower lip section which I did not get back (didn't specifically ask of it either).
