Thanks for the comments. that could very much be the truth.

I don't know if this is due to installation error or something else but I don't have a gap in my clear OEM tail lights. I am going to have another look this evening to make sure

EDIT: I just went ahead and took a look. There is no obvious gap (compared with hzhao gap that he pointed out) in my 2015 GX 460 with OEM taillights.

You can fill that small gap with some self adhesive closed cell foam cut to shape... (even thin weather stripping would work) I used some noico cc foam on my front parking signals recently to fill the gap there and prevent vibration/noise.
Lights look sweet by the way! Look forward to hearing how they age...

No noticeable gap on my ‘19. I like how the vendor made the black strip on the bottom so that the lights could fit both a Prado (without the strip) and the GX (with).

Thanks for posting video - super helpful. These look awesome. Could you get a video from a little farther back with the brake lights on and off? Do you think they’re just a bright (and just as noticeable) as OEM?

How does the waterproofing look?

It might have aftermarket tolerances that allow for a blinker fluid reservoir.

The break lights is brighter than OEM. For OEM it is combined with tail/parking lights, just increase intensity. Not sure what do you mean by waterproofing. It is a sealed light fixture.

Hzaho
For some reason I thought your GX was gray.
I really like the rear profile look and the sequential turn signals. I’m in agreement about the sides being very plain. But the gap between the light and bumper will always bother me.

I would be fine if DEPO or TYC made aftermarket cherry red tail lamps for the GX.

Excellent idea! Thanks. That’s what I am going to do. We are talking about 1/16 or lesser of inch of gap, I just ordered some self adhesive noico form sheet. Will post the result when I get it done.

I pulled out my caliper and it’s 2.2mm gap for 2010-2013 red tails on my 2018. I remember it being wider but i guess i’m wrong.

To try and stay on topic, if I didn't get the 2010-2013 red tail lights, i'd probably spring for the ones mentioned in this thread. The OEM scarlet ones from the sport edition runs at $800/pair. I can't justify that purchase..

As I have stated in my post, the engineering and build quality seems very good. The package is also looked very professional, much like the OEM products. Since it is fairly new, and just been installed. Will have to see how it perform and hold up over the time.
