ProClip make vehicle specific mount. A bit more expensive but quality worth the price in my opinion. Get the GX left vent version if you have a larger phone. Center vent version works too but may obstruct vision a little.

Default Car Mount

I use this one on my 2011 GX. I placed it to the left of the middle vents almost behind the steer wheel. If u place it there make sure u do it with the car off. Mine just clears when the seat and steering wheel slid in when I unbuckle. Default 2010 GX 460 Cell Phone Mount

I wanted something that looks like this. Goal is for the mount to look as factory made by Lexus and yet make my phone easy to remove when not driving.

I use a magnetic mount that slot into the heater vent. It’s been holding up well.

I actually ordered the ProClip GX 'left' mount and am combing that with the Nato Smart magnetic mount.

For those who uses the air vent for mounting, does the blocking of air by the mount not bother you? I cant stand air vent mounts for that reason. Also, during winter months, hot air should be blowing to your phone making it hot, no?

Not really. I habe had
SOMETHING LIKE THIS SOMETHING LIKE THIS
for a while. The phone doesn't get hot (or too cold for that matter) and the vents still fill the cabin with air (Summer or Winter). Granted I keep the 3 zone on all the time.

The only caveat is that you need to re-attach it every other month since the vibrations from driving do seem to loosen it periodically. I do not trust the magentic mounts and do not want to place any adhesives on the interior.

I don’t mind the vent mount and don’t want heat blowing in my face so no concern there. The problem I have is that it falls off with hard bumps.

I usually close more than half the vent anyways. The heat isn’t causing any issue.
I have this case with the magnet built in and it is very strong.

I bought the Nillkin wireless magnetic charger that clips to a horizontal vent slat. I would highly recommend buying the Nillkin magnet case as well if there is a case for your model of phone. I suspect there are other manufacturers who make something similar but I am impressed with magnetic wireless charging. Arriving at your destination all you have to do is "grab and go". The ease of charging allows you to use intensive apps such as GPS mapping and streaming. I have found that I can unscrew the vent clip revealing a stud. My goal is to get something like a custom panavise car mount (although they don't make it for post '09 GX's) and attach the stud to mount.

how about just a strong magnet behind some area, then add one of the metal pieces under the phone back cover. So it just looks like it sticks there.
