Default The Owl Glider...

Yesterday I drove to VA and purchased a 2011 GX 460 for my wife to use as her DD and that will also serve as the family truckster for long trips and camping. It is the claret mica color, 69k miles, and a base package. We also have a 4 year old who watches PJ Masks and already named it “the owl glider”, because a character in the show flies a red plane-type vehicle. with that name.

This is our first Lexus (sold a 2000 Land Cruiser to get it) and I must say I’m impressed. Although, the salesman did admit that he’d never been in a test drive with anyone who actually drove off road to check the 4wd system before...

I’ve been the fleet manager at our house since we got married so I am very hands on and like to take care of as much stuff as I can on my own. I’ve been poking around the forum a little and really like what I see so far.

Thanks.

As a stupid newb question, is there an easy way to reset the Nav screen maps? For some reason this one wil only let me put in an address in VA, MD or DC.

Also, it has not had the airbag recall done yet. I scheduled it at my local dealer for Thursday.

Looks good - congrats.

We barely use the Nav in our GX, but it seems like there was a global reset somewhere that allowed for all configurations and data to be erased? I don't know specifically about the state defaults - it maybe be based on what is defined as your "home" location.

It might have been tecman but I think after a battery swap his reset regions.

I did a one time nav update... more for the firmware bug fixes than anything.

EDIT: Looks like intermittently resetting to Region 9 is one of the fixes.

Took the OG to work on Friday and one of my coworkers pointed out that the antenna was missing. I’m climbed up and this is what I found.

But there is no way we knocked it off on anything. I looked at the work order from when I picked up the car and they have “repair roof antenna” and a labor charge, but no charge for parts? So I called them and they are supposed to get back to me tomorrow. I went ahead and covered the piece that is there to keep it from getting wet.

I also got the airbag recall taken care of on Friday. Yeah!

I guess I should follow up more. I ordered a new antenna and got it put on.

And then my friends and I are hosting an obstacle course race with all the profits going to Operation Enduring Warrior. We had to pick up some obstacles today so I put the GX to work.

Nice pickup.... love that color! An F-Sport grill would really look sharp on your car.
