Console Vault
Has anyone fitted a console vault in their 2014+ GX460 or found an alternative? Emails and calls to the company result in canned responses that "all fitment information is listed in the product details".....

Nice option, unfortunately I have not seen it here.

This doesn't help your issue but looking around there are some cool options out there for secure storage in vehicles.

Not sure what application you intend to use for but this could probably be secured inside the storage box for a handgun anyway.

Thanks Acrad. I ruled out the truckvault because I don't want to lose access to the third row or have that large of a box in the rear cargo area full time. I used to have a portable car safe like the one you linked but it was always sliding around under the seat and didn't really provide quick access. I may end up going to carmax to look at the 4-runner and measure the console and bolt pattern.

Sounds like a good plan... I'd be interested in this option myself. Please keep us posted on what you find out.

LockerDown.com - Coming out with a GX 460 Console Vault
I just spoke with the team at LockerDown.com, and they'll be opening their own fabrication shop here in the coming week(s). They are looking to have a Lexus GX460 Console vault available by the end of 2019. Stay tuned. The team at ConsoleVault.com merely responded to my emails saying "No, we don't have anything that fits your vehicle.". I'm beyond impressed that not only did LockerDown respond positively, but they actually returned my call on a Sunday. If that's the culture of this company - they have my business going forward.

That is GREAT news!!! Keep us posted! I will be in for one.

I had a console vault in my Tundra and a lock er down in my 4Runner, they are built very similar, both good, If more people inquire about it, maybe they'll really make some

<$50 in parts and a couple of hours work.
why not make one yourself? it would most likely be better anyways. |
I’m interested too

No Responses - Gave Up / Bought a lock box

That’s too bad. I’m sure there’s just not a big enough demand for it. I know some people were looking to see if a 4Runner one would work, but I never saw anything conclusive, and I think I’ve seen where the consoles weren’t the same, so probably wouldn’t work anyway. Would at least be nice to get something that could go in the console and somehow have a cable still tied to it.

GX460 Console Vault
They now have a console vault for a 460. On GXOR, they're saying that it is for model years 19+. For this of you with multiple 460s, any reason why this wouldn't work on a 14+ center console? What changed between in 2019 to keep this from working in my '15? I don't trust the security of the locking glove box and have been waiting for this to come out...
Console Vault cannot confirm fitment. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...e4f03020ac.jpg |
