Headlight Condensation

Has anyone else had an issue with headlight condensation? We have had the vehicle for 2 years and this is a first, no obvious cracks and a new one is 1100 dollars. Also out of warranty. Tried the Lexus phone number and they don't want to help either. Really aggravating.

This is a new problem here with the GX460, but not an uncommon problem. If you do a Google search, there are multiple comments along with DIY fixes on this.

I will start with the potential culprits to your problem. Are you sure the light bulb/led is secured in properly?

My understanding is that there are two ventilation holes on most light housings, one on top and one on the bottom. This air circulation is designed to ventilate for weather/temperature conditions. Perhaps you have a clogged hole?

Try useing your headlights to evaporate the condensation.

Thanks for the reply tecman, I'll see if I can get to the back of it to see about those vent holes. From the looks of it there will be some plastic to remove to get behind there. I am hopeful that over time the water may exit on its own. Still it is a silly problem to have on a vehicle of this cost and overall quality.
