Good deal??

We are about to upgrade our RX350 to GX460. I found 2011 GX460 CPO base package. 23k miles. It's Starfire Pearl with Sepia Leather. Stealer wants $43k but I haggled down to $40k.

Base model with Intuitive Park Assist, Tow Hitch w/Ball Mount, NAV without ML.

Is it a decent deal?

Thanks guys and gals.

How many miles?

Eppieguy 06-25-14 01:45 PM

I only paid 53K for my 12 brand new with same color and options. These vehicles hold thier value real well but I'd bet there would be a better deal to be had. But if you like the vehicle and you can afford the price thats all that matters in my book.

If the vehicle has between 20-30k miles, has new brakes and tires, has been reconditioned well through the CPO process, and test drives great, I'd say $40k is a warm/OK price. I've seen a number of CPO Base 2011 GX's with a few more options/packages (comfort and/or convenience package) over the past several months with asking prices already in the $40-41k range, so you can definitely find a better deal if you are in no hurry.

I was in the market for a CPO 2011-2012 GX with <30k miles and was searching since about Nov 2013 until I purchased last month, so I have a good feel for the pricing as I had looked through at least a couple hundred GXs (mostly through online ads and phone; only test drove about 15-20 in person). I only negotiated on about 10 GX's during that span so my general guidance is based on asking prices and subsequent reductions I saw as the dealer tried to move their GX inventory. All Lexus dealer's I dealt with came down from their asking by $500-1000 without much effort, but to get more than that I had to discuss directly with the manager's and that resulted in maybe a total of $2k-3k off asking. Hope this helps.

23k miles. Sorry.

LEP XEP 06-25-14 02:11 PM

I need to google but what is comfort and/or convenience package include?

LEP XEP 06-25-14 02:32 PM

Eppieguy, $53k is out of my price range plus we don't want to finance. I've looked at 30+ GX (not physically) and compare price/options. I tested drove 3 at local Lexus dealer but price was sky high compare to out of state. This one seems to fit the bill plus we like Starfire Pearl.

mistabuyer, stealer said they have replaced this, that, so it will become CPO. Thanks for the head up, I will definitely check it out this weekend.

Thanks everybody.

Convenience includes the parking assist but also has power folding and dimming side mirrors.
Comfort includes perforate semi-aniline leather, wood steering wheel and shifter, heated outside 2nd-row seats, 3-zone climate control.

I only paid $51k for my wife 2014 .

I think the price is kind of high. I traded my 2010 GX 460 premium which just turned 15000 miles in perfect condition with the factory wheels chrome plated for $41K the end of October. It had ML, NAV and was loaded except for rear entertainment.

Look it up on http://www.edmunds.com

Bought my 2011 base model a year or so ago with 45K miles for $40,000 and it was the best deal that I could find. All of the Lexus dealers were $43,000 or more.

Craig B, If I wish I knew you were selling your 2010 back in October. Next time, when you sell your 2014 Luxury, would you let me know? :) Thanks for your input.

Tecman, I've been looking and majority of them with <30k miles are $43-$45k. Thanks.
