Default Squeaking Noise

Bought my 2013 GX460 in Dec, 2012...approaching 3000 miles now. Everything is great, however, I have been hearing braking squeaking noise consistently under these conditions:
1) Low speed braking, such as approaching traffic light.
2) Low speed braking in cold morning (40 degree).
3) Low rolling speed, driving in parking garage

No noise under high speed braking.

Is this normal? I googled a little, saying that such noise is the result of high performance brake they put on the GX460. This is annoying...paying a $60K for a Lexus and squeaking at a traffic light. What are you guys experience or thoughts on this??

Thank you!!

I don't have that problem with my 2010 with 12000 miles. Take it to the dealer and let them check it out. The dealer over torqued my lug nuts when I had my wheels installed and warped the front rotors. They turned them and then I had them replace my rotors under warranty.

My GX has squeaky brakes as well; I asked the Stealer to fix them, but the problem came back after a few months.

Those are VERY heavy vehicles. Brake squeal is normal like on a Truck or heavy van. Heavy Duty brakes can either be quiet and wear out faster, or squeal a little (Denser pad material) and last longer. Toyota brakes are perfectly suited for their vehicles from my experience except 08-09 trucks where they had a couple caliper issues...anyway their brakes are made well for the vehicle and if all they do is squeal intermittently and last a long time, I wouldn't worry about it. Just get them checked at the dealer if the pedal shakes or the squealing happens every time. Then, you may have gotten to the squealer tabs which are put on brake pads to let you know they're low. Otherwise, it's heavy so a little squealing is normal.

who says our gx has heavy duty brakes? if anything they are underdesigned imho...
they are the same brakes on the 4runner and tundra, and fj cruiser.
the LC and LX have slighter bigger brakes, but same design.

if they are squeaking, it could be that grease needs to be put on the shims and on caliper insider where they contact the pad. just take it to dealer. i disagree with the guy above. our gx is not a semi that the brakes should squeak.

Mine don't make any noise, I agree, take it to the dealer, they're not heavy duty brakes in my opinion as well.

The brakes are not under-designed and stop the vehicle well but they should not make noise. Do not put grease on the pads. Take it to the Stealer and let them check it out. Do not except any noise as being normal. You may need new anti-squeal shims. Also, don't let them cut the rotors, only new ones if they feel it is the rotors.

The Lexus dealer over torqued my wheels and warped my rotors. They turned them and then I had them order me a new set of rotors under warranty. I've never had any noise from my brakes.

You guys know more about GX...I just think a $60K car shouldn't have squeaking brakes. I will make an appt with my dealership.
