I have a new to me 2017 Luxury it has the PCS system. There have been 2 times when the belts tightened and then release which I have never experienced in any other vehicle. First a dog ran in front of me and I braked hard from maybe 15-20 mph and the other is when someone stopped short. First one didn't trigger the system as it didn't beep but the second one did both times the seat belts tightened up then released. This isn't the locking when you pull quickly it does do that too there was no impacts just braking hard. I googled but maybe I am typing in the wrong thing and I am curious about this system.

 

It is designed that way, normal behaves.

 

I was even on the Lexus Driver site before I posted looking for that exact info. I have to improve me searching.

Is it possible to shut off the seat belt chime with a 2021 Lexus GX 460 using the on/off/odometer switches?

Also, will this impact the operation of the airbags? I have not found any information about 2021 GX 460- only other older models.

Hello,
I am picking up my new '23 GX 460 on Mon. evening. I am able to fit all 3 car seats in the second row, but it is a struggle to buckle the oldest booster seat belt.
I wouldn't mind a buckle extender but I am concerned about the level of safety. Can anyone advise on this?

this weekend, had the middle row passenger side seat belt crapped out. Might have gotten smacked by something.

the actual adjustment mechanism isn’t working, it’s just stuck in one spot, and the button to adjust it just doesn’t do anything and is stuck slightly depressed.

seat belt does retract unless I physically reach my finger in and push up on the button to disengage it.

So the dumb question is: can I remove this panel even though it’s got the side curtain airbag?
