Gx interior colors
Hello everyone. I am in the market for a 2022-2023 Atomic Silver or Pearl White GX 460. I live in Florida and wanted to get thoughts on the best interior color between sepia, ecru, and black. I want an interior that will last a long time and still look good. I take great care of my cars and will clean and condition the leathe, but I have 2 kids ages 10 and 15 and plan to keep the gx a long time. I love the look of the ecru but worry it won’t hold up or will stain easy. Thoughts on a great long lasting color that will last a long time and keep looking great.
I only get semi-aniline leather, which is available in the luxury trim. The color is dyed all the way through. I have semi-aniline on my 2005 LS430, and the leather is still supple. Darker colors will hide wear better. I have sepia in my GX. Didn’t think I’d care for it much but really like it. Closer to dark gray. Black is too hot in sunbelt states. For me, exterior colors of interest were white, gray, silver with interior of ecru or sepia. International versions got this saddle brown which looks real nice…too bad that wasn’t offered instead of the grotesque red.
I have a '23 GX in the Atomic Silver/Ecru interior, have about 15K on the clock now. The front seats are the only ones that get any use to speak of, and they have held up well for 2 retired people. I do eat breakfast on the road on a frequent basis, no serious stains yet, most just wipe off with a wet/damp towel. I haven't let a coffee/tea stain stay on long, so... I got some cloth seat covers for the rear captain chairs in my car as I carry some hobby related items in the back sets that could/would scuff the seats, or cause wear, so. The seat covers blend in fairly well, not obvious, etc., so. I have never had the 3rd row seats up and used them as my hobby stuff fills up the 3rd row seat area as well.
Teenagers can mess up a steel ball bearing, (IMO
), so the light colored interior could be a blessing (you'll see the stains/spills before they set), or you'll be cleaning them constantly depending on your OCD or the kids. I did not want the darker interiors as all the dealer had was either black or a very dark gray, which get hot during the summer months, even with the seater coolers. I have no regrets getting the Ecru interior, but I don't have teenagers either. GL

I have Ecru I love it but the truck has not been driven much. I use a neoprene seat cover to cover the front seats. The rear seats have not been sitting on yet.

Have Sephia and love it, so far wearing nicely, no signs at all after 64k miles.
Interior and Exterior colors are a matter of taste. Some interior colors goes with certain exterior color.
We planned for long tram use, so exterior is Nebular Gray (sides dirt, like most silver colors) originally planned for the Atomic Silver, but only had red interior, and for us that did not work.
Would have loved to have the saddle brown interior that was available in LC200 and the 4Runner Limited
When we picked ours, the dealer had 10% discount as the 22 models was on the lot and they had plenty of 21's left, so went that way.

It looks a lot louder in pictures than in person. I was actually dead-set against it when I was looking to purchase because of the way it looked in the listing photos, but I was fully aware that phone photos can overemphasize colors in many cases, particularly when taken in sunlight. So when one came up equipped just as I wanted but with the red interior, I had some time to kill, and went to have a look. Once you're in the vehicle it appears much more burgundy, and actually adds some richness and contrast to the interior IMO, plus the red stitching on black is pretty cool imo. I ended up buying it, and have gotten several compliments on it since. If you're looking, I'd recommend having a look at one. If not for this I'd have gotten the black.

Our 2022 has the black/dark gray interior of the Black Line trim. My wife was driving the 2022 until this year when I decided to sell my old 4Runner. When we went shopping for another GX, she said she wanted something lighter because the black "showed too much dust and cat hair". We were originally looking for Sepia but came across a 2023 with Ecru and after seeing it in person we really liked the lighter color. So now she has the light interior she wanted and I have the dark interior I wanted.
