Default 2005Gx470

Good Morning Beautiful People,
I have 2005 GX470. Last few days I am noticing some issues into my cluster instrument. My RPM needle does not go to zero (0) after car is turned of. It's stays in where it was at idle position. Once I turn the ACC on again then the RPM slowly goes to zero (0). Not sure whats going on with it. Any help will be really appreciated from heart.

The stepper motor is likely on it's way out.

I have no experience with this site, but they say they can repair the cluster of a GX/Prado.

chiph9,
thank you so much for you help. Thats a big help. I was thinking about to swap the cluster with another used one that I can find on eBay. That way I don’t have to wait and cost wise will be little cheaper as well. What do you recommend? Looking forward to hear from you.

If I change the cluster on 2005 GX470, do I need to do anything like programming it to bring up to the correct mileage or anything?

That site says you send in your cluster, they repair it, and send it back to you in about 7-10 business days. In the meantime you will need to leave your GX parked with the battery disconnected. That way your odometer will stay correct.

Thank you so much. But 7-10 days it’s little long for me. This is the only car I have drive to work and all other stuff. and top of that it’s looks like repair it little more expensive and time consuming than just buy one user cluster and replace it. I really appreciated you help.
