08 rear headrest dvd not working non navigation
I just purchased 08 model with factory installed headrest dvd. I can’t get either one to work so I’m figuring that surely both units are not bad? I have checked every fuse I thought my be associated with them but all are good. I am hoping someone can tell me some info before I test console apart to trace wires back. Any help is appreciated

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome.. If I'm not mistaken(Although I could be wrong), the 2008 GX470 Didn't come with headrest DVDs from the factory, only the flip down screen from the headliner/roof(For a lack of a better term).
The 2010-2013 GX460 does/did come with the headrest screens, in the premium model I believe.
The day is young, and hopefully someone with more experience, can post up better info.

From what I understand, the GX 470 has had both the flip-down and headrest displays as factory options, based on the VIN number.
There were also dealer-installed aftermarket units put in (what I have).
If you've powered up the DVD player (likely under the passenger seat, but could also be in the center console between the seats) and it accepts a disc and starts playing, yeah, you'll have to trace the wiring.
You might also stop by the dealer and give them the VIN and see what they can pull up for the rear seat entertainment parts - either flip-down, headrest, or no info, which would tell you it's aftermarket.

From what I understand the truck was built without any rear entertainment and the headrest players were purchased and installed at dealer at time of purchase.
Neither player will power on no lights won’t accept disk. I’m pretty good at mechanic work and figured what are the odds of both players going out at the same time. I assumed it was just a power issue but I cannot find the source to begin troubleshooting. Can anyone tell me if they run to some sort of ecu? It has a standard radio and I don’t see any intergration between radio and players. I assumed they were stand alone units but after looking at wiring I don’t know now. If anyone knows where the wires may go that would be a big help thanks again

If it's aftermarket, there's no telling where the wires run. You will have to trace them down manually, I'm afraid.
