Problems with Mirrors, Dash Lit Up, and No Nav
Ok guys, I did a search and saw some recent threads on this, but couldn’t find answers to all my issues.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...y-voltage.html
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...e-mirrors.html
So we came home from 2weeks vacation, and the truck started right up no problem. Drove an hour home from the airport. Ran out to do errands and noticed my Dr side mirror a little low. I set my mirrors to auto tilt during reverse, btw. Then while driving, the driver side would only go left/right but not up/down. Passenger side ok. Then when I got home, dash lit up with VSC TRAC VSC OFF, nav screen went black, driver window no auto up/down, no steering wheel auto tilt, no auto climate, no remote lock/unlock, and no passenger mirror movement. WTF?! I don’t think it’s battery issue. It was replaced 2 months ago. 12.7v reading at the battery. 13.8v during idle.
I then found a thread that referenced TSB - EL006-06 to correct failed mirror actuators. The DIY doesn’t look complicated but can someone tell me which fuses might be blown? If I replace the actuators, how do I turn off the VSC lamps? BTW, no codes thrown. TIA

Both my L and R mirrors are inop. due to burned out actuators. They priced retail about $180 each. Hopefully I can find them cheaper online. Called local Lexus and Toyota dealers- back ordered and non avail.
Went out out to try to disconnect the mirror wiring, and it wasn’t too bad. I followed the tsb as described. First side took about 20 min to figure out and second side took 5 min.
However all the warning lights are still on and all issues unresolved. I tried disconnecting the battery but that didn’t reset the warning lamps. Any clue anyone?

Update- re-read one of the threads where a member replaced fuse #29. Since the fuses are not numbered in the fuse box nor under the lid, a quick Google search pinpointed location of #29, and sure enough it was blown. See attached photo. I replaced with a new 10a fuse, and all warning lamps and Nav returned to normal. I also ordered new mirror actuator so will probably arrive by next weekend.
I hope this helps others should you encounter the same issues. I’ll update again when parts arrive to bring closure.

Final update- I received the replacement mirror actuator from Toyota yesterday. The install was very easy and took maybe 5 minutes. I verified that fuse #29 was good, then reconnected the battery. Happy to report no more warning lights on the dash, and all issues resolved.

NTH or anyone else my mirrors go up/ down but not left and right. I put a new switch in and it did notfix the issue. With it being both sides doing the same thing could it be actuators? Any other ideas and a good place to purchase. TIA

There are a couple of Lexus dealers that sell parts online (mylparts and lexussouthatlantaparts are often mentioned). But all you really need is to find the part number and they're often for sale on Amazon. You'll find them on eBay as well, but there's a higher chance of a Chinese knock-off showing up.
For my 2004, the parts are here:
https://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.c...rimLevel=19100
Right actuator: 8790860841
Left actuator: 8790960731
Different years may use different parts. And sometimes you have to know your VIN as Lexus slipped changes in mid-year sometimes.

Sounds like your actuators are on it’s last legs. These GXs are getting up there in age and miles so I guess it’s expected. The part numbers are the same for all years. Mine’s an 07. I crossed referenced them with Toyota and it’s the same as the actuators on the 4Runners. You’ll save some money ordering from Toyota instead. These retail about 180. Got mine for 117. I saw them on eBay cheaper but not sure if they’re knock-offs. I’d replace them soon before they fail completely.
