Default Bianca the GX Build (Blue Steel 2.0)

Approximately 4 years ago, I started with a 06 GX470 build I dubbed Blue Steel that I lost in an accident and I went to a supercharged FJC and then a 100 series, build thread is here:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/blu...-build.814278/

I always wanted another GX470 and after deciding the torsion bar setup of my 100 series was not for me, I set out to find another to finish my previous build that was taken too soon from me. I ended up finding a 03 GX470 with 185k miles, one owner and 5 pages of service records from the same Lexus dealer. The interior rear of the front seats was in brand new condition. It had the common cracked dash and front seat wear but no rips. This starts the beginning of my new build, Bianca.

First minor mod was yellow vinyl for the fog lights from Headlight Armor:

Next was a proper set of wheels so I opted for +12" 17" Black Rhino Rokus in bronze. I always dug the 6 spoke style wheel and these were extra concave which is what I was looking for:

Ended up bedlining the front grill, as not a big fan of the chrome, but decided to leave the Lexus emblem alone for some contrast:

Added a set of Well Visor window visors that are awesome with a nice black chrome strip accent at the top and attach with 3m double stick and little brackets that stick into the channel, super sturdy and perfect for the heat:

Wanted more of an exhaust note to open up the V8 sound, so I opted for a Flowmaster Super 10 placed all the way by the rear axle for minimal drone and had a turn down welded on after the axle withe a resonator delete:

For suspension, I scored from a buddy's brother in law who had recently sold his FJC: Icon 2.5" extended travel coilovers with external reservoirs, Icon tubular UCAs, and rear Icon VS2.0 shocks. I also ordered an Ironman 4x4 rear airbag conversion kit with OEM rubber spring isolators and Toytec Superflex rear springs:

Added an Inno Shadow 13 cargo carrier for camping use:

To cover the cracked dash, I ordered a Covercraft suede Dashmat in order to make it more appealing as I am too late for the dash recall:

Finally added some 295/70/17 Toyo Tires RTs for some meat in the rubber department, with the proper alignment thanks to RPM Offroad Garage with +4 degrees of caster I was able to clear both body mounts (already did a bunch of trimming at the fender liners):

Picked up a Tuff Stuff 4x4 awning and some custom 3D printed PTEG awning mounts with rubber sleeves off a T4R.org member and installed:

Awning all installed and deployed, love it!

The front tires were still rubbing just barely on the front bumper so decided to go ahead and trim off the lower front bumper section with an air powered body saw and happy with the outcome:

Final look:

I'm still floating around, spend most of my time on the Land Cruiser forums these days though.

470SNC,

Question, if you could pick between Full icon stage 7 + TC LCA or Full Kings (Similar stage as icon) + TC LCA... which would you opt for?

I would go Icon unless you go custom Kings. The Kings come with 550lb springs while the Icons come with 650lb springs, the Kings eventually end up sagging. The valving on the Kings are better than Icon but the springs are the determining factor. If you can order the Kings with 650lb springs, that would be the best bet.

Installed a matte black hood wrap from Amaesing Decals and some Icon/LRD decals from The Decal Garage:

Got some hand me down lower link armor from a FJ buddy from a company called Outrider that is no longer is business but man these are beefy!

Last but not least, installed LED lighting from BPS Lighting:

Just for plug and play and less wiring. It isn't as bright as HID but way brighter than stock so I'm happy plus it is the perfect shade of white.

How do you like the Covercraft suede Dashmat? My dash started getting the crack recently and I messed it up a few weeks ago by putting some bins in the front seat and it damaged the dash. Now it looks like crap and I want to cover it up. Considering getting the Covercraft suede Dashmat or the Limited edition fabric one to cover up the dash. Truck looks sick BTW.

Thanks bud, I highly recommend the covercraft mat. The fitment is on point, but make sure your dash does not have armor all or any product or the velcro for the mat will not stick to the dash. Other than that, it's much better than looking at my spider web of cracks on my dash.
