LX vs GX470
Parked next to a LX470 today. Never knew such a beast existed. All I could see was that it has Land Cruiser style rear doors [which I would prefer]. Are there any other differences?

LX470 IS a Land Cruiser. Exact same everything except (aside from the front end/rear end cosmetics and extra boddy cladding on the LX) the Lexus has a better interior (better leather, more sound insulation, better stereo), and AHC that came standard on all LX trucks. AHC was an option and came on many later model Land Cruiser models (I believe 05+).

I truly enjoy my 09 GX470, magnificent car, but I have dreams of overlanding and the LX/Land Cruiser just seems to be a better fit. Trading is a losing proposition, so as stuff breaks I'm moving toward overlanding. Solving the approach/departure goal of 25 degrees will cost $$, but what's money anyway? IF, I'd seen anything about the LX before I bought this vehicle, that's what I'd have today. Is there one with a turbo diesel?

No turbo-diesels in the US.
Be aware that the LX is slower than the GX (same engine, heavier vehicle). The two-piece cargo hatch is nice, though.
