Default 2005 Transfer case adapter

I've got a broken coupler between the transmission and transfer case. The transfer case p/n is 3501560190, but Lexus doesn't know if it includes the splined female coupler. Can anyone help with the part number of just the coupler or better yet have one? Is there a Toyota or aftermarket option for this? I appreciate the help!!

The coupler turns out is part of the shaft assembly. You can order the shaft and just use the coupler (expenside). I would try car-part.com to see if you can get a used one. Good luck and keep me posted

Try contacting these guys: http://yotayard.com/

I've used them for Toyota pickup stuff, great bunch.

OK, I found "TRANSFER CASE AND SHIFT MOTOR" $1525 with a ninety-day guarantee. How difficult is this to exchange the parts out. Is this something my husband can? He has some intermediate mechanic skills. Has anyone or know someone that has done this themselves? Feeling anxious and frustrated right now. Do I spend the money on repairs or trade it in?

This might give you an idea of the difficulty. The 4Runner is a cousin to the GX.
