Default Tire pressure sensors

I have a 2004 gx470 its 14 years old service records from prior owners show no new replacements of sensors. I just had the tire light come on. I checked all 5 tires including spare and they are inflated at the proper pressure. I need to most likely replace all 5 I plan on keeping truck so I guess its smart to replace all 5 at the same time. Does any one have a better source to buy them on line instead of from the dealer . Dealers avg 85.00 each and I want to replace with OEM lexus ones . Any Ideas would be appreciated

Google it....with OEM in the search. I’m sure there are choices, eBay etc

Sadly, the model sensor we use is not cheap - the best price I ever found was $73 (Amazon price) and that was just the part.

I agree with the plan to replace them all at one time. I didn't when I bought new tires a few years ago and it's been a total PITA to replace them one-at-a-time when the batteries died.

I'm an OEM guy, but this is not something where you have to go OEM. TPMS sensors are pretty basic and aftermarket ones will work just like OEM.

Numerous threads about tire pressure sensors, I just picked this one to post in.
I have a set of summer tire/wheel combo and a set of winter tire/wheel combo. Under the dash is the button to change from one set to the other. (Main or 2nd))
My question is.....
If my current set of 5 wheels (including spare) is on the Main button and I switch to the 2nd set and hit the 2nd button under the dash, does it recognize the spare from the first set and change it to the spare from main to 2nd?

Thanks

does the price include remounting and balancing the tires and programing the sensors...you can find sensors for less than $50, but you have to take the tire off...mounting a balancing could run you 30-50 per tire...

Ground the wire behind the glovebox so the TPMS light never comes on again, and keep track of your tire pressure like you used to. It's free-er.

all nine sensors can be cloned to match the same settings so you never have to bother with that button under the dash...I change out to winter tires too and they are all on the same frequency.

Think Costco charged me $45 each installed for 3 bad ones when I last rotated my tires there.

Your spare can be programmed to be in both sets, so you aren't haven't to awkwardly swap it back & forth.

To answer my own question.......I put one new TPS sensor in and the computer did not have a issue with it, no light on in dash and no reprogramming to get that sensor recognized. I did not switch the button under the dash to the second set of wheels either. I was surprised that the light has not come on ! So now I have 9 working tire pressure sensors without issue. (for now)

Just cut and ground the blue wire going to the TPMS module... it’ll turn the light off.

Being in the business this long... even after all 5 sensors get replaced, odds are you’ll end up with a malfunction. Older TPMS systems can end up costing thousands to repair.... and it always seems to start with one bad sensor. Lol
