Default OEM Upper Ball Joint Part Number?

Hi, i'm looking to replace my ball joint on the upper control arm. I'm having trouble finding the part number for the OEM lexus/toyota upper ball joint. I've heard of people having a lot of trouble with quality on the ones found in the local part shops. Thanks. Also if anyone has used a specific ball joint press kit that is known to have the right adapters for the GX 470, i'd love to know which ones work as they all seem to have a different assortment of sizes in them.

I don't think Toyota sells that part separately.

Correct - they only sell the entire arm. Here's a 2004:

48610 for the right side, 48630 for the left. $397 dealer list price, $299 dealer internet price

Moog sells just the ball for about $50, but you'll need a hydraulic press.

Probably good to replace the entire arm anyway since it will include new bushings. FWIW, I got internet pricing of $280 from Toyotapartsdeal.

I do have a 20 ton hydraulic press and was looking to put in new bushings and ball joint into what i have. The reason i wanted the oem ball joint so bad is people have been complaining about those moog joints not being as smooth as they used to be. I'm looking at proforged now. so i need to do both arms, i figure i'll spend 600 on new arms or i could get new joints and bushings into the ones i have for 107 shipped. Thanks for your input guys.

Moog must have shipped their production to China.

Good luck.

I havent had an issue with Moog yet... Maybe its not as smooth because they havent greased it? Adding some grease to the zirk fitting might fix the roughness? idk
