So I checked Lexus Divers site for info on the GX 470 that I’m interested in buying.
It noted that the water pump was replaced at 89,225 miles.

Would it make sense to replace the water pump and not the timing belt?

The truck is at 140k now

Thoughts?

You'd be stupid to not do it all at the same time, as the labor is the big cost. But that doesn't mean that the PO didn't skip the other items like the belt itself. (I have heard of sellers buying the parts kit and then returning it just to have the receipt to show prospective buyers)

I would assume that without strong evidence that it's been done, that it hasn't.

Well
I brought it.

140k
clean Carfax 1 owner and dealer serviced.
$7700

I got a good independent shop to do the timing belt.

Congrats. I got one as well and it;s at 143k. I am not sure if the belt was done so I might take the same bullet to be on the safe side
