Why do you have 2 VIAS?
I have heard that the lockpins and vias are not compatable but hopefully this will be fine.

The reason for two VAIS units - I have one running my Sirius and one running my iPod - they connect nicely with one tucked behind the navigation and the other one to the right of the glovebox behind the panel - everything looks/sound great.
Yes - I do have an MP3 port, however this setup gives me direct control of my iPod through the NAV/Voice/Steering wheel controls.

I did not see a VAIS option for the 08 GX on there web site.
Did you get a 07 kit if so ther must be no change?
Thanks

^ Give them a call - I've worked with those guys for a few years now and although it took a little bit of work to get it programmed for the 2008, it has worked perfectly! I know they have a 2008 model.

I don't know if this works on an 08, but I am looking forward to hearing. It could be a way of getting topo maps to display if we and figure out a way of using the GPS location.

Hey Everybody,
I recently bought a 06 GX470, and noticed on a few posts that some people have gotten their Navi systems to play DVDs. I have tried putting in the DVD in the CD changer, but it comes up with a message "check CD". I am wondering if this is even possible and if not, how are others able to do this. Overall, is there any way to play DVDs on Navi screen on 06 GX470? Thanks.

You must have the rear seat entertainment package. It plays from the DVD player in the console.
BTW, did this mod in my '04 using the first page instructions. Works great!
Now to get this damn Vais Sli to work right........

hello, first of all i am new and excited to be a part of this forum. I came across this great thread and it is exactly what i have been trying to do. I realize this is a old thread but after reading thru this thread 5 times, i have decided to try my hands at this mod.
i do however have one question. I am loacted in Canada and Radio shack has been replaced by “the source”. I have tried every place possible and cannot locate the switch on the radio shack website. I can only find a switch with 4 connections on the back and I am not sure if I can use it. If I can use it, then where would I connect the ground cable. I did call radio shack to order it but they said they no longer ship to Canada. Can I use a toggle switch with 6 connections on the back of it? the toggle switch looks like a shift stick for switching on/off. Thanks in advance.

Just did this mod on my lunch break...
I did not use a switch.
Followed the steps on page 1 to get to the back of the unit.
Cut Violet with Red line through it and terminated both ends with wire nuts.
Cut the light green wire and terminated the car side and grounded the NAV side.
VERY EASY!!!
Thanks gentleman!
