08 GX New Alternator Black Nav, Help!
Alternator died in my 08 GX, had it towed to a Toyota dealership who replaced the alternator but couldn't get the black nav back on. I then replace the battery as well. No change, black nav, radio and A/C don't work.
I tried disconnecting the negative battery cable for 5 min then reconnected w no success.
Once the negative cable is disconnected then what? Do you leave it unconnected for a short while then reconnect? I took it to Lexus of Austin and they said I would need to make a service appt. I would rather not take it back to Toyota and sit there while they figure out something I can easily do.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

You might want to go ahead and book a service visit with Lexus of Austin. I take mine there and have had really good experiences with them. Their hourly rate is for-sure higher than a place like Charles Maund, but they'll have access to any Lexus-specific parts that might be needed.

it was indeed a bad fuse. Now the sunroof won't open/close unless you hold the button the entire time. I took it back to Toyota bc I paid them $850 to replace the alternator. Toyota ordered the part from Lexus so I know I'm getting Lexus parts. Last month someone (messing w their phone!) hit me from behind. There wasn't major damage but both the rear bumper and rear door had to be replaced. I took it to 2 places for estimates and ended up at Maund mainly bc I was assured all parts would come from Lexus. I was upfront that I was very picky and babied my car. They did an excellent job and was pleased w the quality of their work.
