Default Question regarding headlight for 03 GX470

I am trying to replace a headlight and I'm running into so many different model numbers and replacement numbers that my head is spinning. I was told that the product number is 81130-6a240.

I looked and found a nearly identical item by DEPO with this number 324-1110R-US7 that is listed as compatible with this car.

Is there anything I need to know when looking at compatibility issues. I need the non-sport, halogen.

I'm not the most knowledgeable car guy in the world so a little advice would really help. Thanks!!

Amazon has the Depo units. The non-sport units are:

Amazon Amazon

Amazon Amazon

No idea why they're priced $60 more than the sport ones.

That is the ebay listing. It is a depo part that is supposedly interchangeable with sports specific headllights but it isn't smoked and looks exactly the same as the non-sport depo.

I guess the core question is what is the difference between the non-sport and sport headlights when they are both non-smoked?

Sport headlights are smoked.
They probably used a stock photo. Or were lazy when writing their text. Or both.
(I can't follow one of the "VIGLINK" links from work, so I haven't looked at the listing)

The sport headlights fit fine as well, and look better IMO. Keep in mind, myself and several other members on the Facebook group GXOR have issues with the lenses sun cracking. The warranty is only 1 year, and depot would not assist me with warranty due to cracking.

Well said....I have this very question as well searching through ebay and amazon listings. I'm sure this has been discussed to death and searching through old posts.

As a "non-sport" owner, I have one headlight that appears perfectly restored and another that still has the haze and appears restored as well. I like the green tint actually and surprise, the originals are not there and mine have a Depo part number. I'm thinking about ordering one new headlight, or ordering the pair of sports.
Options: OEM Sport $600/pair (found a dealer)
Ebay Depo Sport Pair ($300 pair...wrong picture I believe)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Headlight-H...e/370916236053
Ebay non-sport replacement ($300 each)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Right-Halog...0/302959017819

There is a big price difference making this a tough call. Open to feedback!

Depo is a reputable aftermarket brand and they make high quality replacements for lots of makes and models. I would feel confident buying Depo headlights for my truck. The aftermarket LED tails I have on my GS are made by them and have been perfect for the last 3 years.

I had ordered some OEM sport lights for my 07 and the dealer cancelled my order because based on the VIN number they say it won’t fit. Is there any difference other then the housing color and reflectors? For the extra $200 I would rather have the OEM then the Depo ones that seem very hit or miss on the reviews.

Or if some are running the Depo ones is there some advice to keep them from cracking?

The Depo headlights have been amazing. The only difference that I’m aware of is the black housing on the sport model. Mine is 03 GX and has held up really well. The only regret is that I waited so long to do it.

Thanks for the feedback. The OEM ones were $268 each for the Sport and $425 each for the regular ones. After a small discount the OEM were a little more then the aftermarket which I typically like staying OEM when possible. I just don’t know why the sport ones are much less then the normal ones if they are basically the same. That being said I’m on the fence of the Depo set for about $300 or paying close to $500 for the OEM sort ones. I saw a lot of people interchanging the Depo assembly but I didn’t know about the factory ones being same/different.

I didn’t like how my OEM ones had a green tint to it. That and how cloudy it was of course. The Depo black housing to me looks more sporty and the lens is very clear with 5 year warranty. If costs isn’t a consideration, just get the OEM ones ...

I use the Novus 3-2-1 plastic polish kit to keep the plastic looking new. If the lens is chemically changed from bad UV damage or from the heat of a halogen bulb, then polishing is hard to do or not possible. My 2006 has OEM lamps, the plastic can still be polished to almost new look. I did however change to Xenon light system a long time ago.

Thank you for the suggestion. What Xenon lights did you go with? Seems that a lot of people like the xenon depot kits.
