Default Rear DVD

I just picked up a non nav non ML, 2003 GX. It does have the rear DVD system but most of the kids movies I own are digital, any pointers on making this system more usable? Thanks in advance.

Burn your movies to disc? AFAIK there's no aftermarket support for reading from a USB stick, etc.

Unfortunately, there's a whole lot more involved than just changing the physical cable connection as you're describing, especially if you're going from a digital file to an analog video signal. Besides the DVD player itself, the rear DVD system has an external analog video input (though it's composite not component) with audio left and right connections, so this would be your only potential interface to play digital movies. Whatever you plug into this A/V input would need to have already converted those digital files from MP4, etc. into the NTSC composite video signal, that the DVD system is expecting. Depending on what portable devices you may have available to play digital files (more than a flash drive), you could use a laptop with a VGA output and purchase a VGA-->composite video adapter, then use a headphone-->RCA cable for the sound. Also, keep in mind that yellow composite video input is not going to match the likely quality of your digital movies -- it's from the old VHS days so the best it can do is comparable to SD quality (720x480 pixels). Obviously, this could quickly become more conversion and technical effort than it's worth and you would still likely be better off burning those files to DVD.
