Had my Westars put yesterday. $130 for labor and all looks good so far. Checked this morning and car was not sagging anymore so will keep an eye on it.
Old air suspension bags were a little rusted from the top especially the connector and looked really worn out.

Got it taken care of under $300 and kept the cushy ride.

Just wanted to provide an update from my 8/7/17 post on this thread. You know, after SHIEKHMAX jinxed me!!!! As posted earlier, my right rear air suspension bag started leaking occasionally. I ordered the parts suggested from eBay for $158 for the pair www.ebay.com/itm/Rear-Air-Spring-Bag-PAIR-for-2003-2009-LEXUS-GX470-TOYOTA-4RUNNER/231771928392 I was interested in doing it myself, but jacked up one side to do a “preliminary check” and the tops of the bags are “way up there”, and I just didn’t see any way I was going to get to the “clip” to release them. So, I opted to have my non-dealer Lexus mechanic do it. He charged me $181 (plus tax). So, for about $350 I am back in business. Thanks everyone.

I am going to try the 1AAuto parts $184 pair

Found this video on line to train my mechanic or do them myself (looks easy if you are careful and you have the tools)

Following up to my post above as the Westar air springs that I installed just under 3 years ago have a leak. I guess for the price I paid, that is not too bad but this time I installed Arnott air springs. Install was even easier this time as I new what to expect. Took about 1.5 hours for both sides and that was me taking my time. I still like the feel of air suspension, so I am not ready to switch over to coil springs yet so long as no higher dollar repairs are needed.

I replaced my leaking passenger bag with the Arnott's as well. Super easy to do. Just need long needle nose pliers and a jack. Didn't even need the special tool for the hose disconnect.

I have completed the replacement of my airbags on my 2008 GX470 at 139,000 miles (included below). I found two links on You Tube on how to do the repairs.
the first one was the best:
I found the information, compiled a step by step instruction sheet to follow. This was a combination of the Arnott instructions with the extra information from the videos. I chickened out and passed them on to my mechanic. I also could not decide regarding the aftermarket airbags so i went with factory on line parts. They looked exactly the same as the aftermarket but were in a toyota box. $400 Should have saved the money but i wanted the same rided. I don't think it made a difference.

My mechanic found the fittings on top of the airbags all rusted out (Illinois truck) and had to repair that and the lines. He charged $200 so at $600 versus $1200.from the dealer it was still a win-win. Overall I think it is a easy job and i probably could have done it. I don't think I would pay the premium for factory parts next time.

Default How loud/noticeable should the compressor be

Hello all,
First time GX470 owner. I just bought a 2007 with 190K on it. Truck is in good shape, tons of records, and only 2 owners.

AFTER I purchased the GX I noticed I could hear the rear compressor for the suspension airbags running. Its definitely audible from inside the car and, at least to me, is louder than the engine running. Is this a sign that its about to go or that I have a leak? Or is this just normal given the age/miles? Also, I notice that it runs every time I start it if parked on an incline. I know there's a lot of info out there and I've spent a lot of time searching to see if this particular question was already asked and I couldn't find anything - sorry if I'm being redundant.

Much appreciated

Air bags leaking, compressor running overtime...fix air bags before you need to ante up another $500 for blown compressor.
