GX470 - Dual Exhaust 2.0
Hello Lexus community and fellow GX470 Owners. I have just updated my exhaust again ! I am really happy with my new setup. I have owned my 2006 GX470 for 10 years, a few of you will remember my initial upgrade to a dual exhaust system. It was a little bit of a cheater. I had bought a 22" long ( 5" X 11" Oval ) Magnaflow muffler, which had a single 2.5" inlet and 2.5" outlet. I then ran a single pipe over the axel, then split it into two pipes for a dual exhaust look.
The new setup uses a Magnaflow Model 14580 muffler. This has a single 2.5" inlet and 2 X 2.25" Outlets. The trick here was to get two 2.25" pipes over the axel and into two separate outlets. Well I have to say my local garage called Zappone's did a job that exceeded my expectations, it looks like a factory installed Lexus muffler system. I bought two new tips for that nice look, Magnaflow Model 35164, ( 2.25" Input and 4" round exhaust outlet.)
The system sounds really nice, not loud like a sixties muscle car but really throaty when under load. My muffler shop did spend between 3 and 4 hours to complete this, but if you see the quality of workmanship you can understand why. They charged me $ 425.00. This included all labour and parts including brackets and pipes. The muffler was $ 199.00 and each of the tips was $ 119.00 each. So the total cost was around $ 900.00. For my American friends this would be around $ 700.00 US. I will try to get some detailed pics when I can get my truck on a hoist again.

So was there ever any updates to this setup or any videos?
