Default Replacing Leather Seat Cover

Hey all,

Just wondering if there is a write up on replacing the bottom seat cover on the driver seat of my GX470. I took the seat out, but to remove the cushion, it looks like the nuts that hold it are welded in place. Is this the case? Or am I missing something obvious? Thanks in advance!

I am not aware of a write up, but I have replace my drivers seat cover and cushion. There are no bolts holding the cover on. The perimeter of the cover has plastic that fits over the edge of the seat base. On one side there is a plastic snap. The cover is connected to the cushion via Hog Rings. Take your time doing this and have the cover warmed by the sun, this will make it easier. Not a difficult job, just be gentle with the cover.
hope this helps

They have some nice looking leather seat bottoms on eBay. Only problem is I'd be afraid of a matching issue between the new bottoms and old tops.

Second what 01Snake said. I got mine off of ebay. I'm hoping to get back to this today and get it installed.

I did my old 4runner off eBay. Bought the seat pad and the leather cover for about $300.00 made a huge difference in comfort. My 470, I had done at an upholstery shop. Was more but looks like a perfect match to the upper leather.

Hog rings... I had to look that one up. Does anyone have recommendations for which plyers for this job? Make/manufacture? Straight? Angled? Locking screw? Ring size?
