I had just finished up buttoning up the A-pillar and lower panel below the ignition to hide the wires for my HaloCam C1 Plus Car Dash Cam install and put in the key and it wouldn't turn. I initially thought it was my new master key I was using (that I copied earlier yesterday by a locksmith) had locked out by the computer. I then put in the original key and it did the same thing. I'd put in the key and it wouldn't turn to accessory/on. I then grabbed some WD40, sprayed some in the keyhole, rocked the steering back and forth and it started right up. When I had the panel out I must of jarred the ignition key lock thus putting them out of place when I had the panels off. Now I'm back in business.

BTW, the dashcam is great but the rear cam wiring is barely long enough reach to the rear where I've mounted it under the bumper.

Good Tip, except you should not use WD40 in any lock/ ignition. Traditionally a Graphite Powder or Graphite Spay is used. I believe they have sprays similar to WD40, designed specifically for locks at most hardware stores. I would advise cleaning the cylinder and using the correct lubricant. My personal experience is damaging 2 different ignitions over the years. In my defense, this was way before internet

The other thing that kills lock cylinders is having lots of stuff hanging off the keyring. The weight causes it to wear out.
