2004 GX470

just recently, when I back up and the mirrors angle down, after about 15 seconds my driver's side mirror starts smoking and the smoke rolls out of the cracks around the mirror. It smells like the motor is burning out but I'm not sure. Has anyone had this problem before? Price to fix it? Is this one of the recalls?

Never heard of it happening. For now, put the switch in the middle of your mirror position control into the center position. This will disable the "reverse down" feature until you can get this looked at (don't want your vehicle to catch fire!)

The actuator is $127 online. The heated mirror is $77 online.

Don't keep doing that, and start driving with a fire extinguisher and a 10mm to disconnect your battery if need be until you can get this resolved!
