Default Trailer Lights not working.

I know there are several threads on this but for some reason am not finding them now. I have a 2003 GX 470 that came from factory without a tow package. I installed a hitch & ordered the light wiring package from etrailer & they didn't work. I then did some research & discovered that you need 2 relays under the hood & one in the driver side rear to make the lights work. I found the 2 under the hood from my local Lexus dealer & the one is the rear according them wasn't make anymore & no replacement number for it. I finally found the one in the rear on Ebay from a junkyard that had dismantled a 2004 GX. Installed it & lights still don't work. It looks in good shape, not damaged in any way. Am I missing something else that I need to make them work?

For the time being when I do use the trailer I haven't worried about the lights & driven during the day but we are planning on possibly taking it on a road trip so would rather get it working before crossing state lines, possibly in the dark.

Thanks for any help

I went through all of that about 4 years ago. Every time I thought I had everything the lights still would not work. I did however get that last relay (rear) at Toyota dealership not sure what part number was though. I wonder if you have a bad relay back there being used?

I feel like in the end it was something with the wiring kit, I had to order a different one and it all worked. I will look in my receipts and see what I can find for you.

Ok I found my receipts:

relay from Toyota part # 81985-0c040 was $43 bucks
Lexus relays 90987-02025 times 2

I did find where the wiring kit I purchased from u-haul was not correct and that was the final issue I had, had to return it. That part # was 20137, that is not going to work, but I could not find what one I ended up ordering that did work, but I bet that is your issue.

Hope this helps you!
