2008 GX470 - Fuel Filter Replacement
First post to the Forum!
I recently (November 2016) purchased a one owner 2008 Lexus GX470 with 184,000 miles. I have recently had the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner pulleys serviced in December due to maintenance schedule. I had to install a new alternator, battery and replaced the front and rear wheel bearings. The next maintenance item I am having serviced is the spark plugs and would like to replace the fuel filter. The question that I have based on research and this forum is that the fuel filter is inside the gas tank. Is that true? I had a 2001 Toyota Landcruiser and it was simple to change.
Thanks for the help.

Not sure about "self cleaning"...
I just never let it get below a quarter-tank. I know there's trash in there (based on everything else the PO did wrong...) so I make sure the pump isn't trying to pick it up.
