Default timing belt

Looking to get the the timing belt on my gx470 2005 replaced. It will include the water pump and cam shaft. What's the going rate out there? I was quoted $1,100 from the dealer. Does that sound about right or should I find another mechanic. Thank you.

If you know a good Indy, that'd be the preferred option. Mine charged me $400 for the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and drive belt. The below kit is what I got and supplied to him. Note: you'll have to get the thermostat and drive belt too.

Camshaft? Why are you needing a cam? Do you mean the camshaft front seal? I owned a shop for years, not a mechanic but I learned a lot. Anytime we did timing belts we also replaced the thermostat, some may agree or may not, but with all that work its a minor thing to change. I think $1100 is high, also low if the camshaft needed to be replaced. If you can find a honest GOOD reputable independent shop it would be cheaper, it comes down to who you trust the most. Its the most costly yet important maintenance service to have performed, make some calls do some research if you call a independent and they quote $500, that could be just for the belt, tell them you want the water pump, front seals (cam & crankshafts), rollers, tensioner and OEM fluids, I would even say OEM parts, unless you trust aftermarket, which may be ok, but imo I trust Lexus parts.

... I'm sure he just means the tensioner pulley ...

This is not something that needs to be done by a dealer, and you'll save a bunch by having an independent shop do it, if you can't do it yourself. There are a ton of Toyota specific shops out there that do this job every day and for a fraction of what a dealership would charge.
