Heater Vent Issue 2006 GX470
Noticed today in the cold Chicago weather that my heat was only coming out of the dashboard vents rather than the floor vents whether the climate controls were set to auto (supposed to default to floor) or manual. Had the car into the dealer last week for the recall to replace the center airbag sensor assembly. Anything involved with the airbag sensor replacement that could have messed with the heater/climate controls? Is there any computer reset that needs to be done after disconnecting the battery for the service? I did the A/C self diagnosis test and it cycled through all of the settings and vents and gave the all clear 00 code. Thoughts?

If you can use the climate controls to manually direct air to the floor, then the duct door motor is fine.
Use the Auto setting, then go to the Climate screen and it should show you where it's directing air.

When I manually direct the heat to just the floor in the climate control or leave the heat on Auto (which shows it defaulting to just the floor in the climate control) the heat/air comes out through the vents. As I mentioned earlier, the A/C self diagnosis suggests all is OK and doors are functioning (unless that is only testing the A/C and not the heater).
