1978 Prowler 18 footer. It weighs probably somewhere around 3 thousand pounds loaded up. The GX tows the trailer fairly easily. When we are climbing it does work hard, but it's still fine and manageable. I get probably 8-10 mpg when towing. Honestly I wouldn't want to tow anything a whole lot heavier with the GX. You are probably going to be limited to a small travel trailer around 21 foot or less. You need to consider the loaded weight when buying something...water, gear, propane, etc.

You also need to consider whether or not your rear air suspension is currently up to the task! As she is gonna ride LOW if not.

Your rear air suspension will be fine as long as there are no leaks in the system / bags. It's really nice to have the air suspension as the truck is perfectly level when towing.

That's what I meant by "currently".

To clarify for OP, these trucks are known to have issues with the rear air suspension leaking. And it is EXPENSIVE to repair to it's original functionality, but there is a way to get it trailer ready.

And you CAN add In-Coil air bags for relatively little cost to achieve proper ride height when you know you're gonna be towing.

Depends on the altitude you'll be pulling at. Up here in the high Rockies you don't want to pull much with a GX, I have a Dodge Cummins diesel pickup for that stuff. They can pull pretty good weight in the flatlands though.
