Default Will 5541260260 accommodate a standard double DIN head unit

I want to upgrade my factory non-nav radio in my 2006 Lexus GX470 to a double DIN aftermarket unit, but I need to replace the trim to accommodate the larger radio. I want a factory look, too. Is the radio opening in Lexus part # 5541260260 a standard double DIN size?

Im not sure but I doubt that its standard double din. I dont even know what cars that piece fits, it isnt for the US nav models because there would be a row of buttons below the screen. I've seen an aftermarket piece available for converting to a double din stereo, I would go that route instead.

Default Lexus NAV Screen Size

This fits my 2006 Lexus GX470 (actually fits 2003-2009). Numerous website list this part as the trim for the NAV radio option, and it does accommodate the row of buttons below the screen. A good picture of this part is available at http://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.co...roduct=5779568 .

Aftermarkets that I have reviewed don't match the color of the Lexus trim. So, why not use a Lexus part if it fits. Can someone with NAV measure the screen size?

if you do a google search for GX470 interior pictures, you will see that the Nav unit and non Nav have different openings, so how will you mount the heater controls and the heater unit display in the part number that listed?

I got a aftermarket piece, http://www.beatsonicusa.com/sla-81fb.html and took the ash tray and that to a paint shop and they get it close, not 100% perfect but very close.

I saw your earlier post, NMBruce, but I didn't want to pay that much for the trim.

I guess I'm looking to upgrade on a budget.

Search google, there are plenty of others that is just the radio part that is changed. Note: I know nothing about this site other than a 2 minute search on google. Check Amazon and ebay, but like this one:

I got the one that just replaces the small upper piece, not the whole cage (that would be more of a pain to install and paint), so its easy to paint match if you want but I think it looks fine the way it is. page 3 of my build thread check it out. They have it on amazon, its the best one to get IMO.
