Default Timing Belt and Camshaft/Crankshft Seal replacement??

Hello,

I have purchased full kit from Amazon OEM Aisin TKT-001 Complete Water Pump Kit-Timing Belt. The kit has 2 seals in it. A camshaft seal and the crankshaft seal.
Anyway, I was wondering what the consensus is on replacing these two seals during the timing belt replacement. The car, which I recently purchased, is a 2004 with 74,000mi on it. No oil leaks, runs great. ( I am replacing the radiator at the same time, as it has the telltale pink stain on the drivers side lower corner.) One mechanic said if the seals arent leaking to leave it be. I have some concern that if it starts to leak this whole tear down has to be done again. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Replace the seals. All seals eventually wear out. Mechanic is being lazy.

lol..yeah. 2 cam seals and a crankshaft seal came in the kit.
Thanks for the replies...yes I agree the mechanic was being lazy. But I wanted to get a sense of how many here, that have done the timing belt, replaced those 3 seals when they did the job.seems to me that is the time to replace those seals. Im still contemplating doing the job myself, but I already know its going to test my mechanical skills. I havent wrenched in years, and when i did, it was water pumps, brakes, drive shafts, a fan clutch or two. Nothing really in the engine, and nothing with that much detail. Im sure I could do it, its my blood pressure and the drinkin that concern me.lol

That's exactly why those seals come in the kit...so they can be replaced when its opened up...just like replacing the water pump while you are there... make him do it..
