Default Maintenance reminder screen

For those with the navigation system -- if you go into the maintenance screen, you can set the change interval for your oil and filter. There are values for both miles and date, and if you exceed either of them, you'll get a yellow "MAINT REQD" light on the instrument cluster.

When you get close, the light will blink a few times at startup. When you go past either one by a good amount (500 miles or a week or so) it will stay on all the time.

When my dealer does my oil change later this week, I'll reset the miles to 5000, and the date to the one they print on the windshield sticker, so that I'll know when it's time. You may use whatever values you like.

I don't get dash lights on mine, just on the nav screen at start-up. Which is weird as ours is an '04 as well.

I've stopped using it altogether, I have a whiteboard in the garage I track all the vehicle maintenance stuff on that I like much better.

Hmm. Check for it when you first turn the key and the dash does it's light test. It's on the right side.

I suppose the bulb burned out. But it's also possible that Lexus did a mid-year change and removed the feature.

It's my understanding that on all Toyota vehicles. the maintenance required light is simply on an odometer trip, and will illuminate every 5000ish miles. i don't think it is connected to the nav system settings at all... at least on my 2002 LS430 and 04 GX it isn't..

This is a true statement... my 4runner did the same thing...the Nav maint is a secondary reminder for more than just an oil change...I track my brake and rotors ...filters on my Nav
