GX470 2004 - Airbag Light On
I have 228,000 miles on my wonderful GX 470. Love it!! Very Few Problems. My Airbag Light on the Cluster stays ON sometimes and sometimes is OFF. There is no consistency. I will be driving and the light will come ON and stays ON. And then, it will stay OFF for few drives. Any thoughts why the light would sometimes come ON?

A diagnostic scan should indicate which airbag is setting the fault. Given the mileage, I would first look at the electrical contacts for the airbag in the steering wheel. Do all the switches on the vehicle steering wheel work?

Agree with wallen. Look at steering wheel contacts first.
Next thing I would look at would be a side airbag -- if you move the seat back and forth a lot, that can stress/wear-out the wires underneath.

- is the occupant sensor built into the cushion of the front passenger seat.
