Had a nice camping weekend, stayed at Dome Springs Campground in Los Padres National Forest. We were pretty much the only group in the whole campground and it was open shooting everywhere. Fun weekend of fast wash sections mixed with rock gardens, shooting, and sitting around the fire, great times!
All in all, wonderful weekend, although my exhaust decided to high tuck itself in the rock garden, you live and you learn, time for a rechop!

Finally got some funds to score me a good deal on some used 4th gen 4runner Demello Offroad X-Wing sliders this last weekend. A big thanks to Jason Fleck for the installation help and the use of his awesome shop. We were prepared to weld these bad boys on, but to our surprise, they bolted right up to the existing factory holes minus the pain of having to drop the gas tank skid. These are super beefy and overkill but I love them and just happy to finally have some sliders on my rig!

Method wheel offset
Hey, Great build! Thanks for the great info . I am building a 2004 GX. I have looked at quite a few builds and am looking at some new tires and wheels. I read that the stock GX wheels have a +25mm offset and have seen some guys with as much as -25mm to get the clearance they need for the new tires at full lock. Can you please tell me what the offset is on the Method wheels you are using? I tried to see it in the pic's on the first page of your thread but could not see it clear enough. Thanks in advance!!
All the best, Phat

Another "nice job" from me. I stumbled across your thread last month. I saw a water fording pic and obviously the snorkel. What did you do regarding the interior for water protection? Maybe I missed it if there was some discussion of wetness infiltration. It would be easy to envision atrpped carpet and insulation followed by something like a Rhino lining. That would detract from the Lexus ambiance, but perhaps it's a practical necessity to do serious water wheeling. Going that path, I also wonder what the road noise impact would be. I also wonder about about low lying electronics, including power seats. Just curious about what you've done, or if my interior flood concerns are unfounded.

Thanks for the kind words but as of last week the truck was totaled in an accident where a kid in a Honda Pilot hit me head on turning left into me on a green yield light.
@PhatGX, my Methods were 0 offset with 4.75 backspacing, and they were perfect fit.
@zippinbye, I've only gone as deep as 1/2" up the front fender and no water has ever came into the interior

In all seriousness, it's sad to see your investment of money and mostly time get taken out. Whether it be through a large insurance check or a fixable rig + check, I hope you come out okay.

Yeah it was a sad sight but luckily since we were both in SUVs, we escaped unscathed minus the usual whiplash pain in my back and shoulders. Insurance totaled it out and it was in the police tow yard so they gave me one day notice if I wanted to come and pull parts off and I was still having back pain so I just let them have it as is. They did give me extra money for the mods though.
I received the check and picked up a 08 supercharged FJ cruiser with low miles, so no more lexus for me, but it was fun while I had it, maybe sometime in the future there will be another GX in the plans.
